According to their 2006 Sustainability reports. Danisco has focused a great deal of effort on the environmental aspect of their CSR strategy. The strengths of Danisco’s environmental focus are their efforts in biodiversity, renewable energy initiatives and their environmental expenditures.The have still displayed weaknesses in the areas of waste, spillage and fines but have also demonstrated a willingness and capability to atone for and prevent these occurrences in the future.

Danisco has been recognized for their efforts environmentally and were recently awarded two prizes for “product” and “management” by the Danish Society of Engineers. They intend to improve their standards moving forward and reference plans such as their “Global Training Plan of Safe Behavior” as examples of the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
