General Mills is the world’s sixth-largest food company. It markets products in more than 100 countries such as Green Giant vegetables, Old El Paso Mexican food and Häagen-Dazs ice cream. Their U.S. portfolio includes Yoplait yogurt, Cheerios, Wheaties and other Big G cereals.
They also market strong local brands, such as Diablitos meat spread in Venezuela, Latina pasta in Australia and La Salteña dough in Argentina.
General Mills also owns the subsidiary Small Planet Foods that offers more than 100 products that are USDA certified organic marketed under the Cascadian Farm and Muir Glen brand names.

General Mills Inc. has a goal to reduce their greenhouse gas generation rate (measured as CO2 equivalent) by 15% over five years using fiscal 2005 as a baseline. In 2006, 88 % of waste was reused or recycled, while 12 % was sent to landfills or incinerated. The goal at General Mills is to reduce the solid waste generation rate by 15 %.
